TRLC plans to open 2½ miles of new hiking trails at the Ledge Creek Forest Conservation Area in February 2019. Volunteers are needed to help complete the trail network expansion. Volunteers can choose from workdays already scheduled in October, November, and December. Continue reading
TRLC Acquires Floodplain Property in Warren County
TRLC recently purchased 152 acres along Fishing Creek in southern Warren County. The property was purchased from the family of the late Mary Louise Pullen Owen. TRLC has now preserved 2,407 acres of land on Fishing and Little Fishing Creeks through conservation easement agreements and land purchases. Continue reading

Farmhouse Burn Helps Certify Local Firefighters
Students and instructors from a Vance-Granville Community College Fire Control class burned an abandoned farmhouse on land owned by Tar River Land Conservancy in Granville County on September 9, 2018. Conservation Land Buffers Camp Butner and Protects Drinking Water

TRLC Internships Filled by Thomasson and Cohen

AmeriCorps Land Management Position Available
Applications are now being accepted from individuals who are interested in serving at TRLC as an AmeriCorps Land Management Associate starting September 2018. Students and Scouts Plant Trees at Ledge Creek Forest Conservation Area
Students from Falls Lake Academy in Butner and Boy Scouts from Creedmoor joined forces with TRLC staff and volunteers to plant over 350 trees at the Ledge Creek Forest Conservation Area in early February 2018. The trees were planted as the first step of restoring an acre of abandoned pasture to woodland. Continue reading
