EVENT DESCRIPTION
Winter is tree planting time! We’ll plant a variety of tree and shrub seedlings on TRLC-owned conservation properties near the towns of Butner and Stem. Seedlings will be planted near streams to protect drinking water supplied by Lake Holt and Falls Lake. No previous experience is necessary. TRLC staff will provide instruction on proper tree planting techniques. Tree planting holes are pre-dug. We’ll park in a grass field at the event location. Then we’ll walk or shuttle folks to and from the tree planting areas. We’ll follow protocols to limit everyone’s exposure to the COVID-19 coronavirus. TRLC will postpone and reschedule this event if weather conditions are poor. Registrants will be notified by email and/or cell phone if the event must be postponed. Currently, rain dates for this event are Friday, January 21, and Saturday, January 22.
