Landowners

If you or your family owns land in Person, Granville, Vance, Franklin, Warren, Halifax, Nash or Edgecombe County and would like for all or a portion of your land to remain undeveloped forever, the staff at Tar River Land Conservancy would like to talk with you.  We work with private landowners across these eight counties to help them achieve their long-term conservation goals through a variety of land protection tools.  Most often, we assist landowners who wish to place conservation easements on their land to preserve open space, farms, forest, wetlands, and wildlife habitat by restricting future development and other activities.  In other cases, landowners choose to transfer ownership of an undeveloped tract of land to Tar River Land Conservancy through a gift or sale or by designating Tar River Land Conservancy to receive the property in the owner’s will.
