It’s National Take a Hike Day!  Bring the family and join us at Ledge Creek Forest Conservation Area Trailhead on 3189 Brogden Road for a 2-mile fall guided walk.  Gerald Pottern, Senior Biologist at Mogensen Mitigation, and TRLC staff will lead the hike through a beautiful hardwood forest to Ledge Creek, and then along the trail to an old farm pond.  Learn about the ecology of the area, a bit of the history, the work of Tar River Land Conservancy and our partners to preserve these sites for wildlife habitat, scenic beauty and clean water.

The hike will be limited to 40 individuals and pre-registration is required.  The hike is rated as “moderate” since it will include steep hills.  Please wear sturdy shoes and field clothing suitable for walking off-trail.  We request that dogs, other than registered service animals, not be brought to the event.
