Twelve Hawks-Hasty Tract cardinal flower in bloomJoin us Saturday, September 24 at 10:00 AM for a hike on this newly preserved property adjoining Fishing Creek in northern Nash County.  The 40-acre property features a mixture of hardwood and pine forest areas and open land on Fishing Creek, which is the largest tributary of the Tar River.  Helping lead this hike will be Nash County Ranger Bill Lewis of the NC Forest Service and freshwater ecologist Judy Ratcliffe of the NC Natural Heritage Program.  The event is free, but donations are appreciated

Please wear sturdy shoes and field clothing suitable for walking off-trail.  TRLC rates this hike as an “easy” hike.  We request that dogs, other than registered service animals, not be brought to the event.
