Field Day on the Farm 2017

Saturday, May 20, 2017
11:00 am to 2:30 pm

Mill Creek Farm
5178 Gooch’s Mill Rd.
Oxford, NC 27565

Join us for Field Day at Mill Creek Farm, located near Oxford in Granville County, for our annual gathering of Tar River Land Conservancy supporters.  The 296-acre farm is owned by TRLC supporters Randy and Barbara Guthrie.  The Guthries raise livestock and actively manage timber and wildlife habitat on this beautiful property located at the confluence of the Tar River and Shelton Creek.  Permanent forested buffers on the farm shade over two miles of frontage on the Tar River and Shelton Creek.

This year’s Field Day will feature entertainment from local musicians, a catered lunch, kids’ activities, catch-and-release fishing, and a guided hike to learn about conservation activities and wildlife.  The hike will include a stop at the cabin along the river for refreshments.

The catch-and-release fishing will take place from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon.  Please bring your own equipment, bait and lures.  Live minnows are not allowed.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.

For the hike, please bring sturdy walking shoes and any hiking sticks that you might need.  We request that dogs, other than registered service animals, not be brought to the event.

Please click here to register online or contact Sheryl Munt at events@tarriver.org or 919-496-5902.  All proceeds go to support Tar River Land Conservancy.
