EVENT DESCRIPTION
Ever wondered how nature trails are created? Find out by helping build trails on Tar River Land Conservancy’s newest nature preserve. The Roberts Chapel Conservation Area is located a few minutes from Butner and Stem. Each workday is led by a TRLC team member. Trails are constructed using hand-tools including loppers, hand saws, rakes, and shovels, which are provided by TRLC. No previous experience needed. We provide training and support. Volunteers must follow safety protocols to limit exposure to the COVID-19 coronavirus. Help us finish 1½ miles of trails by the end of 2020 and open the nature preserve to the public in spring 2021. Once this nature preserve is opened to the public, visitors will have access to the trails year-round during daylight hours. Volunteers can look forward to returning to this property to enjoy the trails for years to come!
