Adcock Tract 102.48 acres, Allensville Township

The headwater branches of the Tar River are located on this farm in Allensville Township, which was originally bought by The Nature Conservancy in October of 2000 from Matt and Catherine Adcock. In 2005, the Nature Conservancy granted a conservation easement on the entire property to Tar River Land Conservancy, which then assisted TNC in finding a conservation buyer. The farm contains pasture and riparian forest buffers along the headwater branches and streams which now provide permanent protection from incompatible development and/or agricultural use.
